Summer Reading Program

 

South Windsor Public Library is proud to be able to offer a Summer Reading Program for all age groups. There is no charge or residency requirement to participate. Choose the program appropriate program below and follow the instructions to start earning prizes for using your library all summer long!


Ages 0-5 Program

Register to receive your Summer Reading Booklet for the summer. Pick up a printed version at the library if you cannot print from home. Participants work to complete activities each week to receive a prize. Additionally, receive a drawing ticket toward a weekly prize for each day you visit the Library (through August 9th). Kindergarten-Grade 5 Program

Register to receive your Summer Reading Booklet for the summer. Pick up a printed version at the library if you cannot print from home. Young Adult Program

Participants in the Young Adult Summer Reading Program earn one SWPL (pronounced "swipple") Nickel for every 1/2 hour that they read. Nickels can be spent at our store (open every day in the CYA Library) for smaller prizes or saved up for the end-of-summer prize live auction on August 6th at 5:00 p.m. Any questions regarding the Young Adult Summer Reading Program can be directed to the teen librarian Bella bfeest.swpl@libraryconnection.info or 860-644-5404.

Adult Program

Participants in the Adult Summer Reading Program will fill out a log with books they read from June 9th through August 23rd at 11:00am. Registrants will receive a dragon phone stand keychain while supplies last. Reading logs can be printed from home or picked up at the reference desk. Sticking to the genres listed in the reading log is not necessary. For additional fun, come to the Information Desk and roll to see what genres you will read.

Patrons will receive a prize ticket for every book they read. Additional tickets are given for completing levels. The final prize is a games night gift basket additional prizes are gift cards and certificates to local businesses. The drawing will take place August 23rd at noon.
