The Library has several exhibit areas available for non-commercial displays by the public. Exhibits are booked for calendar months; certain months may not be available because of planned library use. All exhibits must be approved by library staff prior to installation.
The Friends' Room Gallery runs around the perimeter of the Friends' Room and can accomodate a wide variety of wall mounted pieces. Display surface widths are 17', 13', 30', 33'. Height approximately 6 feet tall. A certain amount of sculpture and other three dimensional artwork can be accomodated as long as it does not interfere with the programming that regularly takes place in the space. upon request.
There are three adjoining wood / glass lighted cases located across from the entrance to the Children and Young Adult Library. These displays can be reserved separately or together as a single large display space. Each section is 6.5' tall, 2.25' deep, with movable glass shelves that are 1' deep. Lower Level Display 1 is the largest of the three. Lower Level Display 2 is located in the center, most directly across from the Children and Young Adult Library. Lower Level Display 3 has a rounded edge and is closest to the elevator.
This display case is located next to the main entrance on the upper level of the Library. It has 3 adjustable shelves that are viewable from both sides of the display. Each shelf is 6.5' wide and under 1.5' deep. The case is 6.5' tall, visible from both sides. Please be aware that items housed in this case will be exposed to a certain amount of sunlight.
This small gallery is located halfway up the stairwell between floors. It can accommodate 2-3 larger pieces that can be hung using a STAS picture hanging system.
