South Windsor Public Library

Young Adult Programs

Our voices have power. We use our voices to share stories, express ourselves, and spark change. Our voices include not only the sounds we make, but the words we write, the art we create, the movements we perform, and the actions we take each day to impact our world.

Explore the services of the Young Adult Department at the South Windsor Public Library and let your voice be heard! Check here regularly to see what programs and activities are available for middle and high school-aged teens.

Teen Advisory Group

SWPL’s Teen Advisory Group gives teens a voice in their community, a leadership role in their library and support for issues that face young adults. TAG meets once a month to discuss programs for 6-12th grade patrons, activities to sponsor for young patrons, volunteering, and the summer reading program. To be in the SWPL Teen Advisory Group you must be or have been a SWPL volunteer. Let us know if you are interested at dnewbury@libraryconnection.info or at 860-644-5404.

Your Next Great Read!

Your Next Great Read! is a book club for middle and high school readers. The group browses new teen titles coming into the library and vote on which ones to discuss at future meetings. Register to attend this program through the event page on the calendar.

Teen Journaling

Teen Journaling

Why Journal? Let’s have a quick look at the benefits of journaling:

  • There's no judgment! Let it all out without worrying about feedback.
  • Become more self-aware. Gain a greater sense of who you are and what you want.
  • Slow down. Step out of time and process your day to day and observe your world.

Register online and we will send you monthly prompts on the first of every month. You will get to know yourself a little better, learn to recognize your strengths, and become proud of who you are!
