Book Clubs

The Children's/Young Adult department is proud to offer a variety of book clubs for different age ranges and in different formats for our patrons. There's something for everyone and we look forward to reading with you soon! Copies of all book club choices are available at the library.

Little Readers - Grades K-1 - In person - 2nd Saturday of the month during school year @ 11:30 AM.

SuperStar Readers - Grades 1 -3 - Zoom - 2nd Saturday of the month @ 2 PM (during school year) and fourth Thursday of the month @ 4:45 PM.

Not Your Average Book Club - Grades 4 - 6 - Zoom - Every three weeks on Wednesday @ 4:30 PM.

Nutmeg Book Review - Grades 4 - 6 - Hybrid - Fourth Tuesday of the month @ 5:30 PM.


Little Readers

The Little Readers book club meets monthly to talk about the picture book of the month, do a craft and read a sequel. This group meets in person on the 2nd Saturday of the month during the school year at 11:30 AM. Recommended for children in Kindergarten and Grade 1.

 

Superstar Readers

The Superstar Readers talk about the first book in an early chapter book series. A craft and a sequel title are available to take out after the event. This group meets twice a month on the 2nd Saturday at 2 PM and 4th Thursday at 4:45 PM. Designed with first, second, and third graders in mind.

 

Not Your Average Book Club

Not Your Average Book Club is a virtual reading discussion group for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. It meets every three weeks on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM via Zoom. At the end of every meeting, attendees get to choose the next title for the club.

 

Nutmeg Book Review

The Nutmeg Book Review group meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month to discuss one of the Intermediate Nutmeg Nominees. This is a hybrid program that meets both via Zoom and in person. It is geared to fourth, fifth, and sixth graders.
