Henry Fonda stars as Wyatt Earp in this film from 1946 directed by John Ford. Ford takes on the legend of the O.K. Corral shoot-out in what’s been called “one of the director’s very best films.” Victor Mature plays Doc Holliday and Clementine is Holliday’s (fictional) schoolteacher flame from back east who has been searching for him. Earp becomes smitten with her, but this does not prevent him from becoming friends with Holliday. The screenplay is based on the fictionalized biography Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshal by Stuart Lake.
