2017 Summer Reading Club for 6-12 graders
Once upon a Time...
                                                                            
Reading Club specifics: Sign-up begins May 31st at 2pm.
All participants are encouraged to read and review at least two books by Saturday, August 12th! Volunteers must read and review two books for their volunteer hours to count. For every review you hand in, you will receive a ticket and a free book.  The tickets are put in the prize box of your choice.  Prizes will be awarded at the Field Day Finale on August 11th.

Program specifics: 
Medieval “Minute to Win It”: Thursday, June 29th at 2pm. Registration is required! Test your skills and compete with other teens for prizes!
“The Princess Bride”: Wednesday, July 5th book discussion begins at 6pm, the movie will be shown in the Children’s Program Room beginning at 6:30pm. Register for book discussion only.
Hobbit Immersion Camp: This 2 week camp will begin on Monday, July 10th and end on Friday, July 21st. Campers will be required to read 2 chapters of the Hobbit. Register!
Fantastic Beasts Cinema: We will be presenting three “Beastly” movies in July for your watching pleasure! Join us for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them at 6:30 pm on July 12th, Jungle Book, at 6:30 pm on July 19th, and Beauty and the Beast, at 6:30 pm on July 26th.  All movies are held in the Children’s Program Room and attendees must be 10 and older.  No registration is required.
“Quest for the Holy Grail” Scavenger Hunt: On, Friday, July 14th, we will be closing  the library at 4:30 pm and only opening the doors at 5pm for the participants of this program.  This medieval hunt is for the daring only! Register! 
Fairy Tale Trivia: On Thursday, July 27th at 2 pm, we will be holding a mythical trivia game. Buzzers, laughs, and prizes!! Register.
The “Once Upon a Time” Finale: The finale will be a series of fairy tale-themed field day events at the Town Hall on Aug. 11th at 5pm.  The drawing of the 6 summer prizes will be at 6:30 pm in the library following the games. Register!
 


Starting May 31 at 2pm, sign up to be a
SUMMER VOLUNTEER! 6th to 12th Grade only.
Available hours are:Mon-Thurs, 10-8 pm,. Fri 10-4 pm and Sat- 10-12:30 pm
Duties include:​ Rewarding readers with prizes and helping at the craft table as well as,
  • Cutting out craft pieces (for programs)
  • Setting up chairs for programs (or taking down set-up)
  • Straightening shelves (standing up books and moving in book holders)
  • Putting away movies
  • Copying
  • Bringing un-shelved books to desk
  • Adding books to new book displays
  • Calling next day’s program participants
  • pick up toys in play area before leaving
*Summer program runs 6/26 to 8/12. Volunteers may work 2-4 hours per week. 5th grade going into 6th are invited to help out at the library also.
